Rabbi Netanel Shriki

Those who arrive at the courtyard of Rabbi Netanel Shriki, the renowned Kabbalist of Netivot, encounter a sight that feels almost timeless. Dozens of people – young couples, families, and elderly men and women – wait patiently outside his modest home.

Some hold small envelopes with names for prayer; others clutch bottles of olive oil for a blessing. All have come seeking one thing: a touch of hope.

At the center of the courtyard stands Rabbi Shriki himself – calm, soft-spoken, with a gentle gaze and a warm smile. He greets each visitor personally, listens, asks questions, and blesses them. There is no grandeur here, no distance – only compassion, humility, and a quiet faith expressed through constant acts of kindness.

Over the past decade, Rabbi Shriki’s name has become synonymous with blessing and faith. Thousands of families across Israel tell stories of prayers that changed their lives – for livelihood, fertility, peace at home, and healing. Many first heard of him in 2014, when he became known for his public prayers for the collapse of Hamas tunnels and the safety of Israeli soldiers.

A Courtyard of Compassion During “Swords of Iron”

When the Swords of Iron War broke out on 7/10/23, the rabbi’s courtyard turned into a bustling hub of humanitarian activity. Within hours, hundreds of volunteers gathered in Netivot, packing vehicles with food baskets, medicine, blankets, and children’s supplies before setting out for evacuation centers across the country.

This was not a one-time effort. The rabbi’s team had maintained an organized charity system long before the war – ready to respond immediately in times of crisis. Lists of needy families were already prepared, donations were collected transparently, and aid was distributed without distinction of origin, belief, or community.

Rabbi Shriki himself visited evacuation hotels several times a week, meeting displaced families, listening to their stories, blessing them, and reminding them that they were not forgotten. “The hardship is real,” he told one group, “but so is the light. The people of Israel never abandon one another.”

Prayers for Unity and Victory

Alongside the relief work, nightly prayers were held in the courtyard for the success of Israel’s soldiers, the safe return of the hostages, and peace for the wounded and bereaved. These gatherings brought together hundreds of participants from every background: religious and secular, young and old. standing side by side, united in faith.
“When you hear hundreds of people praying together,” said one participant, “you understand what it means to be one people with one heart.”

Acts of Kindness as a Way of Life
Even after the headlines faded, the courtyard’s rhythm did not stop. Through the organization “Tehilat Shalom – Source of Wisdom”, founded under Rabbi Shriki’s guidance, a vast charity network continues to operate year-round delivering food baskets, supporting orphans and widows, funding scholarships for students and Torah scholars, and assisting the elderly and sick.

Volunteers describe it as a seamless flow of compassion: “There’s no bureaucracy here,” said one of them. “You see someone in distress – you help. No noise, no publicity, just love for people.”

A Family Legacy of Faith

Rabbi Netanel Shriki was born and raised in Netivot, a city known for its line of great Sephardic Kabbalists and spiritual leaders. He is the grandson of the esteemed Rabbi Shalom Ifargan, whose life of scholarship and devotion profoundly influenced the spiritual fabric of Israel. From an early age, Rabbi Shriki immersed himself in Torah study and Jewish mysticism, following in his grandfather’s path and eventually becoming one of

the most respected teachers of his generation.
Despite his growing reputation, he remains remarkably modest. There is no entourage, no luxury car, and no fanfare. “Blessings don’t depend on who gives them,” he often says, “they depend on the heart that carries them.”

Standing Firm Amid Rivalries and Trials

In a world where spiritual leadership often becomes the subject of rivalry and competition, Rabbi Netanel Shriki has chosen a different path. The landscape of contemporary rabbinic circles can at times be marked by tension, misunderstandings, and even public defamation between followers of different courts. Yet those close to Rabbi Shriki describe him as a man of integrity and unwavering faith, who refuses to be drawn into disputes or respond in kind.

Over the years, he has faced false accusations, but never allowed them to weaken his resolve or obscure his purpose. His answer has always been quiet perseverance – continuing to bless, to help, and to bring comfort wherever it is needed. “The truth doesn’t shout” he once said, “it simply endures.”

Through resilience, humility, and a steadfast belief in the goodness of people, Rabbi Shriki continues to serve his community and the Jewish people with a pure heart, determined to do good for as long as life gives him strength.

A Spirit of Hope

As Israel continues to heal from one of the most turbulent years in its history, Rabbi Shriki’s courtyard in Netivot stands as a beacon of light. People still come daily – some for a blessing, others for guidance, and many simply to find comfort in the atmosphere of faith and kindness.
“We live in a noisy world,” the rabbi said recently, “but within all the noise, if you truly listen, you can still hear the inner voice that keeps our people alive.”
